Amelia didn't quite make it onto the Easter bunny's lap this year...but it's way closer than she got to Santa Claus, so I'm considering it progress. William just wanted to see what her ears tasted like.
Ever since she saw plastic eggs in the grocery store, Amelia has been asking me, "Is it Easter yet?" This girl has a memory like an elephant - especially when candy is involved - and she has not forgotten that last year, those little plastic eggs were filled with CANDY. So, she was very happy when she got to have an Easter egg hunt at playgroup. She hunted until she had about 15 eggs, and then she decided that instead of continuing to work hunting for more, she would rather sit down and enjoy her loot. She opened them all up and dumped them into her bag so she could survey them and not waste time on the ones she didn't like (i.e. toys and stickers :)
William enjoyed chewing on his plastic egg and some stray pine needles.
Amelia tried to confiscate his egg, but when she realized it was taped shut, she handed it back so as to focus on the more accessible treats.
We also had an egg hunt in our backyard
Notice our lovely rosemary bush in the backyard. Once I learned what one looked like, I notice them ALL over town. They smell so good.We were SO lucky to have Grandma come and visit us last week. Amelia and Grandma are pretty much best friends and it is so sweet to see them together. They spent the whole week side-by-side exploring the world.
We love you so much grandma. Come back soon. Even better, move to Santa Barbara.
We have been having lots of fun at the baseball games this year. Amelia loves running on the field after games. She loves dragging daddy around...making him carry her very manly umbrella....
She has many special friends on the team like this one whom she begs to fly her around like an airplane...over and over and over again...
And this one who won her over after pretending he didn't want her to say hi to him ("No, you can't say hi to me. Nope, don't talk to me" and of course, that just made her insistent on saying hi to him, becoming friends, and sharing her stuffed animals.)
William just enjoys being out and about, seeing the sights and eating things off the ground. This is about as far away as I am allowed to get from him.
And even at this distance, in about 2 seconds he is right back here
He is starting to look so grown up.
I could eat him up.
Go put William down for a nap, come back out and find a bare bum climbing into the wagon in the backyard.
Put William's diaper on first after a bath, turn around to find her bare bum picking flowers in the back yard.
Not pictured:
Go into the kitchen to load 1 bowl, come back to the living room to be greeted by a bare bum standing on the ottoman watching a movie
And my favorite:
She was bare bummed riding her trike in the backyard when she jumps off and says, "Oh, I forgot my helmet!" She ran inside, put her helmet on and continued riding....as if all was now okay...
Hear happy singing in her room at "nap time," go in to find a bare bummed girl in her bed.
So, you get the idea. I won't go on. But I could. Oh, I could.
My mom has been asking for a video of William crawling for a month, so here it is. Not the best video, but you get the idea. He's a really cute crawler.
But, a couple of days ago he learned how to do this with Amelia's shopping cart and he is pretty thrilled with himself. He bumps his head on our hard wood floors a million times a day, but he just gets up and does it again and again and again.
