Halloween was so fun this year.
So, so, so fun.
Amelia and William are old enough to go to the doors by themselves, say "Trick or Treat" AND remember to say, "Thank you! Happy Halloween!" on the way out. Ellie sat in the stroller the whole time content to play with glow sticks and watch the dark and mysterious events. So that left Andrew and I free to relax and enjoy the evening watching the magic that free candy brings to childhood.
Our neighborhood is Ah-mazing every day of the year, but Halloween night is especially fun. We know many of the families in our neighborhood and it is so pleasant to walk around Halloween night with so many friends out in the streets and at their doors laughing and talking and enjoying each other. Many of the homes go all out for Halloween and decorate their doors, or do mini haunted-porches. This is our neighbor's house. He plays spooky music and the kids loved it.
The kids always want to buy knew costumes when they see them at Costco but I am a cheap-o and told them they just had to choose from our dress-up box. We have plenty of dress-ups that have been handed down to us over the years and could have come up with a hundred costumes with what we had so I saw no reason to waste money on anything new!
Amelia chose to be a dinosaur (it kind of surprised me that she chose the dinosaur costume instead of all the princess dresses we have, but I secretly loved it and thought she was the cutest dinosaur ever:))
William wanted to be a Power Ranger Batman...he was darling too.
Ellie got to wear the scrubs Lisa bought for Amelia when she was a baby and was a mini "dentist in training."
Speaking of dentists, our dentist's office will buy Halloween candy from kids for $2/pound. I thought my kids would jump at that opportunity since they love money these days, but when I asked Amelia if she wanted to do it she said, pointing to her bag of candy, "but why? I have everything I want right here." These kids love candy...

In other news, this baby is turning into a little girl!
She always scrunches her nose like this...and I have been told I do this too so I guess it's genetic.
She even had her first pigtails the other day!
She keeps me busy. She likes unloading the cans in my pantry into this laundry basket (after first unloading the laundry onto the floor) and then pushing it around the house. When she's not doing that she is throwing all the water bottles onto the floor or unloading the pots and pans cupboard.
If she is not helping out in the kitchen, she also likes to be playing the piano
Such a cutie.
Last weekend we hiked to the caves at Gaviota and it was so much fun.
