The last time I blogged was before William started cutting 5 teeth all at the same time and before he started walking/tripping and bonking his head all over the place. Oh, and before Amelia stopped napping. Yup, that's about exactly when I stopped blogging.
But, William did just turn an incredibly adorable 1 year old, so I must share.
He loved his birthday cake and ate 3 slices! I experimented with a new recipe (surprise, surprise) and he loved it. It was a vegan whole wheat cake with lemon filling and a tofu lemon frosting :)
Of course, any birthday involving an older sister, means he had LOTS of help opening and playing with his presents
We were SO lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa here for the weekend and the kids were in heaven with all the love, attention and fun.
These 2 were INSEPARABLE as usual
We went to the butterfly exhibit at the Natural History Museum and saw some beautiful butterflies.
(No Amelia doesn't still use a binky, just when she steals an old one of her brother's and insists on using it for the day. I pick my battles. That was not one for the day.)
The museum also has a dinosaur exhibit and William LOVES excavating dinosaur bones.
This huge T-Rex is out front and he moves and roars in a very life-like way. It terrifies William :)
Amelia has learned how to turn on the hose and if I am not quick to redirect them to a less muddy spot, this is what I get to clean up a couple of times a day...
We have been so lucky to have a few friends come and visit this summer. We had so much fun with Katie and her family and my kids were in heaven having buddies to play with.
Amelia and Jonas played so well together and I loved having Jonas here to read Amelia stories :)
And a few bonus picutres:
Amelia found my swim cap and wore it around all day. It was a big hit at the park where she got many double-takes from the other parents.
Winter hat and mittens with shorts and short-sleeved shirt and a whole packet of stickers on her clothes.
And just a couple more nudy pictures that made me crack up. The things this girl thinks are essential...and the things she thinks are not...Yes, those are gloves on her feet.

Your kids are the cutest ever! I'm glad to see that you are doing so well. We miss you tons.
Hi Michelle! It's a good thing you have an awesome sense of humor :) It looks like you clean up as many messes per day as I do! (I thought it was just because I had 2 boys ...) ;) Your kids are beautiful, you're beautiful too! Glad you guys are all doing well. :)
Haha, I love it!!! William has indeed grown into a darling one year old, and Amelia's antics make my day (and seeing as my kids flooded my bathroom and half of my hardwood hallway today, that is saying something!!!) :)
Your kids are so big! Bryce and I will come visit... when he actually has some vacation.
Love it! BTW Lori's grandmother-in-law asked if Amelia had cancer the day she was wearing that swim cap. I think the combo of her super white skin and hair coupled with a swim cap made her look as if she might have been balding :) She also asked if Jeanies kids came from Ethiopia, not sure she has much of a filter, lol :D I agree, you do have an amazing sense of humor, that muddy mess would have been enough for me to unscrew the hose the first time!!!!
