Do the letters U, C, S, and B mean anything to you? They didn't to me either, until today that is. Now they mean a whole world of emotional change and general upheaval in the near future.
UCSB = University of California Santa Barbara
UCSB now also = Andrew's new job and our new home
Andrew was just hired as the new head baseball coach at UCSB. You can read more about it here.

We are very excited about and grateful for this opportunity and are optimistic about the way this new path will change our lives and our future. At the same time we are so sad to be leaving our friends and family in Oregon and to be leaving Oregon in general.
I can't quite comprehend it all yet.
I mean, not to complicate things, but remember that I am having a baby in 9 days...give or take a few! I can't travel now, and am planning on being fairly useless to the world for a while after the baby comes, so I think it is going to be a bit of a process for us to actually get moved and settled in.
I hear Santa Barbara is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, everyone else apparently already knew this and housing/living is a tad on the expensive side. So, when you come visit us, don't be surprised to find us living in a yurt. If we're lucky.
On a separate note, here are pictures from our recent trip to the Oregon Coast with Grandma and Grandpa Checketts and cousin Jordan. Amelia had so much fun and it was one of those pure joy moments of motherhood. She was running, squealing and laughing the entire time. She ran straight into the freezing cold water every chance she got...and pretty much didn't ever want to come out. The only problem was if her feet were in the freezing cold water, that meant mom's feet were too! But it was so worth it to see her so happy and to have so much fun together. Love these moments.
Flying a kite with Grandpa.
She now walks around the house signing "hi, hi, hi-a-hight" to the tune of "let's go fly a kite" (from Mary Poppins)
Awesome pregnancy comment of the week:
"WOW! Your stomach is sooooo big! You must have eaten a lot for dinner!"
Luckily this person is only 3 years old. She still has a few more years to get away with comments like this.

Michelle, that last picture of you....you are gorgeous! One beautiful pregnant lady! With a whole lot to deal with! Congratulations, that is amazing...and stressful....and wonderful...and an adventure!!! Keep us posted on the craziness!
so I have a friend who jsut graduated from UCSB... It will be fun to visit you sometime when we go to Disneyland (but who knows how many years that will take to get down there). Is this permanent? And you look SOOOOO great, and not huge at all if you ask me! I think you remind me of me when I am pregnant, not massively huge, but big enough to know you are ready to go. haha You just look so pretty, you always have!
Congrats! Blake told me a few days ago that it was rumored you were leaving us, but I was waiting for it to be official. I am sad you'll be leaving Oregon, but so excited for your new adventure.
And you really are one of the cutest pregnant people I've ever met!
Yay!! Congrats!!! Santa Barbara is awesome! It is part of my mission, so we may just pop in and visit you sometime ... in your yurt ;) Excited for all your new adventures! Can't believe you are due so soon. It'll all work out!
On the positive side: SB IS beautiful. It's my 'hood, homie. 3/4ths of the streets are named after my relatives. My mother's cheat for which street to get off to go to 'Paseo Nuevo'(The 'nice' mall)It's Carillo St, and she knows this because it's named after her grandmothers family, and her grandmother knows where the best shopping is. pmnemonics at it's finest.) Amelia can run in the surf there without a sweater on. :)
Congratulations to Andrew! Dan P. posted it on FB and so I am a little behind. What a great opportunity! Anyway, being out of the loop I'm not sure if you've had your baby yet, if so congrats! If not, I hope you're doing ok. Hopefully we'll be back in town before you guys roll out. Congrats again to you guys! - Zac
Loved, LOVED the post! So excited for your new move. Glad you get to live in a shack down by the beach. If you want to borrow our van you can live in a van down on the beach! Wish we could take a fun vacation with you guys again! I think Amelia would be more into the girls now days! Good luck with all the moving and babying! Can't wait to see you guys again!
Oh, you should make a fake blog that is not private and post to it when you post to your real one. That way you'll show up as a new post and we'll know when you've posted and check your blog!
Congrats on the new baby! I'm excited you are moving back to Cali! Santa Barbra is only an hour from my parents house so we will have to get together when you are all settled in! You have a beautiful family!

Congrats! SB is one of my dream locations. GORGEOUS! You're going to love it!
I'm SO excited for you guys!! Although, I'm sure we'll have a sad little boy when he won't get to see his girlfriend every day anymore. And his sad Mama to not see you every day. Guess we'll have to come visit a lot! (Even if you're in a yurt - totally worth it!)
Huffs new vacation spot??? Beautiful Santa Barbara:) We miss you already :)
That video is the funniest/cutest one ever!
